About this event

Through the theme of Black progress, back in 2023 we honoured the work of Black inventors, writers and activists that have made a significant impact on society.

Over this 2-day event a group of Made Tech employees and others participated in a hackathon with the goal of creating a technology project that celebrates Black innovators. It didn’t matter if they were an engineer, designer, product manager or if they’ve never looked at a line of code before – all roles were welcome.

Project plan on whiteboard from one of the Hackathon teams.

To know more about how the event went and the outcomes, you can watch our Blackathon on-demand webinar.
