The Met Office has signed a new contract with Made Tech to continue as their Digital Services Partner for the next 24 months, with the option to extend for a further 12. Made Tech currently supports the development and innovation of the Met Office’s public website and mobile applications, helping the UK public to stay safe and thrive with timely weather and climate updates.

As the provider of the nation’s public weather service, the Met Office’s website ranks in the UK’s top 40 by search traffic. Its mobile app is the number one free app in the weather category. Together, these channels attract over 50 million users a year.

Chosen for our ability to build trusted relationships, deliver value for taxpayers, and develop market-leading public sector products and services, Made Tech’s vision to innovate the Met Office’s consumer digital portfolio includes exploiting advanced technology such as machine learning and natural language processing models.

Blending user-centred design with world-class scientific weather forecasting, we will enable the Met Office to achieve new levels of reach and engagement with the British public, ensuring they remain the trusted authority on weather.
