The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has signed a £2.8 million contract with Made Tech to create a new social care data tool. Selected for our deep understanding of social care data and extensive expertise in health data management, we’ll create a tool that will help everyone in the sector access and use social care data more easily, by bringing together data from different sources. This will improve analysis, policy-making, and service planning at all levels.
It will be a vital tool in extracting the value of social care data in other transformational projects like the new social care client-level dataset.
The project will deliver two phases: Alpha and Beta, building on the 2023 discovery findings. The Alpha phase will prototype solutions to test technical and user requirements, validate the vision, develop a roadmap, and look at expansion possibilities.
Raj Malhi, Head of Strategy and Data at DHSC, said, “We’re really looking forward to working with Made Tech on this programme. Their knowledge of social care data and expertise in managing health data will bring valuable insights and ensure success.”
Hazel Jones, Director of Health and Care at Made Tech, added, “We are passionate about using our skills to improve data insights and decision-making in the health and care sector. We’re excited to support the DHSC team on this important programme.”
