Ahead of the chancellor’s budget, techUK have published their Growth Plan outlining how the UK tech sector can be a driving force for growth in every nation and region of the UK. By supporting digital transformation and fostering collaboration between businesses, policymakers, and communities, tech will be a key pillar of the UK’s future economic success.

Alongside the launch of the Growth Plan, techUK have announced the election of their new Growth Council for 2024/2026, and we’re delighted to see our CEO Rory MacDonald appointed to this team of talented industry leaders.

This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the future of the UK’s tech landscape. As part of this council, Rory will work alongside other leaders to promote the role of technology in unlocking new opportunities for innovation, investment, and job creation across the UK.

techUK’s Growth Plan is all about:

  1. building the right foundations – getting the foundations right, including skills, digital adoption, infrastructure and investment incentives
  2. enabling the competitiveness of the UK’s everyday economy –  a place-based approach to deliver tech clusters and improve the quality and efficiency of our public services
  3. shooting for the stars – shoring up the UK’s competitiveness by leveraging economic growth opportunities and capitalising on our unique advantages

At Made Tech we’re looking forward to seeing the positive impact this will have on both the tech sector and public services.

Rory McDonald says “I’m looking forward to helping push forward initiatives that support innovation and make sure that the tech sector plays a big role in the future of the UK economy.”
